About the programme

A great drama school audition is about more than learning your monologues. It’s about showing the panel who you are, showing them that you can make interesting choices and demonstrating your potential as an actor. Our coaching helps you refine your monologues and develops your character so you can stand out from the crowd.

Our Drama School Philosophy

The time you have in that room is the time that counts and at Speaking Voices we believe that when you’ve been given the opportunity you must take that chance to show who you can become as an actor.

Our SPEAK framework creates the foundation of what you need to become a great candidate for drama school. Once you have memorised your lines, your breath is steady and your mindset is focused, you’re ready to step into the character at any time. You can think on your feet, make spontaneous choices and be confident performing in any environment. This is where the real transformation starts.

From there, we help you bring your monologues to life, guide you to make bold and specific choices and refine your performance. We work on your voice, speech and physicality so you’ll be able to step into the audition with confidence.

Let's break it down

  • Explore whether the monologues you have chosen are suited to you as an actor and if not guide you to finding the right ones.

  • Understand what the script is outlining, looking at the context and the subtext. Explore why the author has written the character in this manner.

Absolutely. Bringing your audition pieces means we can work directly on the material you'll be performing. We will assess if the audition pieces are right for you before we explore your character, intentions, choices and delivery to help you create the performance you want.

If you're unsure what to perform, we can help you think about your choices and identify pieces that allow you to showcase your personality, strengths and casting type as an actor.
