Discover your voice within this wonderful voice world

Mumbling can be defined as the speaker talking but the words become inaudible or unclear. The person doesn't need to be softly spoken in fact we can all have tendencies to mumble when we feel tired. So can we stop mumbling and what can we do when it occurs frequently in our day to day lives?
We are dominated by emails, texts, and video calls, so it’s easy to overlook the unique value of face-to-face communication. While digital tools have made it easier to connect across distances, they can’t replicate the richness of in-person interactions.
Recently, I have been posting some reels on social media and it was really interesting to see someone commenting on my post "this feels like ai". Now I know a lot of people use ai generated texts, images and I have heard the horrific stories of actors having their identity stolen because companies have cloned their voice and image without their consent. These actors only have to read the 150 words to clone their entire voice and their image is publicly used to create an AI avatar. In this blog, I want to dive deep into the differences between a real person speaking naturally in front of camera to an AI generated script and video.
As an actor, I’ve learned the importance of preserving energy before stepping onto the stage. The hours leading up to a performance are crucial in ensuring I am not only physically prepared but also mentally and emotionally charged. This concept of managing social energy can be applied beyond theatre, it’s especially relevant during the festive season when social calendars are packed with corporate Christmas parties and friendly get-togethers.
We have all heard the phrase "Speak now or forever hold your peace." Traditionally associated with weddings, but it has a much broader application to life itself. This phrase serves as a reminder of the importance of expressing yourself before it’s too late. Whether it is in relationships, at work, or even in day-to-day interactions, holding back your thoughts, feelings, or ideas can lead to missed opportunities, unresolved tensions, and a lingering sense of regret.
The festive season is a time for family, laughter, and celebration, but it can also bring awkward conversations, probing questions, and uncomfortable moments around the table. For many of us, Christmas gatherings are a mix of joy and unease as we navigate small talk and well-meaning but intrusive questions from relatives we might only see once a year. Whether it’s the dreaded “How’s your job going?”, “Are you dating anyone?”, or “When are you having kids?”, these conversations can quickly go from harmless to exasperating. If you’re looking to avoid these pitfalls and make Christmas dinner a more enjoyable experience, this guide is for you.
Public speaking is not just about what you say but how you say it. One of the most powerful yet often overlooked tools in effective communication is pausing. Pausing allows your message to land, gives your audience time to process and creates a natural rhythm that keeps your delivery engaging. Whether you are presenting to a room of colleagues, speaking at a conference, or delivering a heartfelt toast, learning how to pause intentionally can transform your speech from average to impactful.
We have all had those moments where we just do not feel like doing something. Maybe it is a presentation at work, a social event, or even something small like making a phone call. You are not in the mood, you are doubting yourself, or you feel like you will not do it well. The temptation to put it off or avoid it altogether can be overwhelming. But here is the thing: doing the thing you do not feel like doing, especially when it is something that challenges you, can be one of the most rewarding decisions you will make. Taking action, even when you are hesitant, can shift your mindset, boost your confidence, and open doors you did not even know were there.
